William "Bill" Leon Groth, 55, of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Bill was born in Spring Valley, NY on May 19, 1968.  He spent his early years living in New City, NY before relocating with his family to Poughkeepsie in 1970.  Bill was a talented carpenter by trade and a valued member of the Local 279 Carpenters Union.  He spent over 35 years working on both residential and commercial jobs ranging from building houses to hospitals and even helping to construct grandstands for the US Open golf tournament.  He was also relied on by his family and friends to assist in jobs around their own homes.
Bill's parents, Ed and Lorraine, predeceased him but he is survived by his 3 brothers: Michael and his wife Sandy of Aurora, NY; Jeff and his wife Jen of Burnt Hills, NY; Kevin and his wife Lori of Southington, CT; and his 9 nieces and nephews: Michaela, Monica, John, Daniel, Cora, Emma, Catherine, Caleb and Olivia, all of whom he loved deeply.
In his spare time, Bill loved golfing, football, the outdoors, and playing games with his family. He touched many lives and will be missed dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM from St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's name can be made to the SPCA in honor of his love for dogs.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parmele,  Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie.
