Obituary

Walter James Tyger "Jim",76, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2021. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Deborah DeFrance Tyger; 2 sons, Benjamin Christopher of Bethlehem, CT and Clayton James, of Lagrangeville, and their children Aurora (16), Brigid (14), Morgan (12), Brody (9) Malcom (7) and Cadence (4). Jim's sister Wilma Jean Osterhoudt and her husband Ken reside in Port St. Lucie, Fl.
Jim graduated from Purchase Line High School, Commodore, PA in 1963 and enrolled in the Air Force. On leaving the Air Force in 1967 he was hired by IBM where he worked for 33 years, working himself up to a project manager position. While working for IBM he attended Oneonta College where he received a BS degree in Physics.
While Jim enjoyed creative projects like building his home, furniture building, and bluegrass music, God, his family and golf were his priorities,
A memorial service will take place November 6 at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church on Route 44 (1576 Main Street) in Pleasant Valley. Please wear a mask and contact Debi if you think you may attend. In lieu of flowers send a donation to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; the American Cancer Society; your church; or your favorite charity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
