Virginia (Ginny) Rossway, age 98, passed away March 12, 2022. She was born January 17, 1924 to Gertrude and Edgar Leibe in New Jersey and moved to Pleasant Valley NY at the age of 7.
Ginny graduated from Arlington High School in 1941 and served in the WAVES (Navy) 1944-1946.  She married Otto Rossway in 1947 and together they ran the Rossway Poultry Farm for over 30 years.  She then worked at the Highland Savings Bank for several years until her retirement.
She is survived by their four children, Eileen (Al) Bontorno, Carol (Gary - deceased) Tubbs, Neil (Barb) Rossway, and Mary (Bob) Naeher. She had 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins and was dearly loved by all.
Ginny was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley, faithfully attending for 91 years.  She was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Valley Grange and the Pleasant Valley Health Committee. She was a 4-H leader for 15 years and was a literacy volunteer for the Dutchess County chapter
She had a gift for welcoming everyone she met with warmth and generosity.  She carried peace, love and graciousness with her everywhere, often accompanied by delicious homemade food.  She will be sorely missed by her friends and family
The funeral will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley (route 44) on Friday March 18th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to World Vision ( Worldvision.org ) or Hospice.
