It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoria P. Mainiero, 84 of Millbrook. She left us peacefully on November 3, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 31,1940, to the late Anthony and Vivian Cassano in New Rochelle, NY. Victoria graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1955 and married Daniel Mainiero on November 15, 1959. They were together for 41 years until his death on May 8, 2001.
Victoria was the loving mother of Toni Ann Mainiero of Dover Plains, NY, and William and his wife, Kate Mainiero of Elizaville, NY. Victoria was the cherished grandmother of Louis Castellani, Stephanie Risucci, Daniella, and Bella Mainiero.
Victoria enjoyed a long career as a Bank Teller where she made many friends and good memories. She was a great cook and enjoyed hosting her family for Sunday dinner, keeping that tradition for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed cooking meals for her local parish Priests. She loved decorating her home for the holidays, baking delicious cookies, and her famous biscotti. Her family and friends always looked forward to receiving their tray of cookies and candy. Victoria also enjoyed her trips to the casinos and socializing with local senior citizen groups. Above all things, Victoria loved and treasured her family. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7th from 4-7pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday, November 8th at 12 noon from St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Victoria's Hospice care team, her long time doctors and the doctors and nurses at Vassar Hospital who took care of her with respect, kindness and compassion on November 3rd.
