Obituary

Thomas Bargo passed away peacefully at aged 78, on August 12, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Born in Tarrytown, NY on April 2, 1945 to Bernard (d.1991) and Filomena Leone Bargo (d. 1949).  Thomas moved his family to the Hudson Valley in 1980 and lived out his days in an environment he proclaimed as a family oriented community.  A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Thomas was devoted to his family.  Cherishing family events and holidays, specifically Thanksgiving, his goals were to always ensure the family celebrated together. Thomas, a father of four and grandfather of three, is survived by his wife of 56 years Kathleen Bargo of White Plaines, NY.  Thomas was predeceased by his son Thomas Bernard Bargo who died in infancy in February 1974.  Thomas will be sadly missed by his daughters Stacy Sherow (husband Macy) of Clinton Corners, NY, Kristine Bargo (husband Todd Emslie) of Pleasant Valley, NY and son Kevin Bargo (wife Julia) of Vienna, VA, and his beloved grandchildren Thomas Bargo II, Andrew Bargo and Alexandra Emslie.
Thomas, a devoted Catholic, had a great many friends whom on Sundays after church would have breakfast, which he named the "Breakfast Club" and according to Tom the club was exclusive only to card-carrying members.
Thomas was a prolific reader - remembered to always grab the pristine copy from the back of the magazine and book rack.  Thomas was a sports car and sports enthusiasts, always enjoying working on and talking about cars with his grandsons (and teaching them to drive).  Thomas also enjoyed watching and sharing NY Yankees and Giants knowledge. He was also a collector and player of fine guitars.

Thomas loved spending great times with his granddaughter, enjoying picking her up from school, lunches together, watching her dance, and listening to her play the clarinet.
A man of few words but tremendous spirits, he could be at a family event for hours but exchange very few words until ultimately upon departure express a dissertation of observations compelling his family to express, "oh finally Tom showed up!"  Whack-a-do, whack-a-do…! Thomas would profess lifelong advice, perhaps his most notable, the belief that one's socks should always match one's shirt – bestowing an extremely large collection.
Thomas is survived by many loving family and friends to include nieces and nephews from coast to coast.
