Stella W. Coy, 101, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  She was born on January 9, 1921, in Poughkeepsie to the late Kazmierz and Aneila Wojciechowski.  After graduating from Wappingers High School in 1938 she furthered her education and graduated from The Poughkeepsie Business School.
She was the executive secretary at the Poughkeepsie Journal for 26 years. She is survived by their three nephews; Bobby Coy of Florida, John C. Nemes of Poughkeepsie, James S. Nemes and his wife Jean of Stanfordville; a grand nephew, Matthew Nemes and his wife Ashlee and their son Owen of South Carolina and a grand niece, Heather Papa and her husband Nicholas and their four children Angelina, Izabella, Taurino, and Danika of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Earle Coy, her two sisters, Josephine Bowe and Nellie Nemes, and her two brothers Charles C. Wojciechowski and Steven Wojciechowski.

Private services for the family will be held at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.  She will be buried next to her late husband at the Lloyd Cemetery.
