Obituary

STANLEY COLE

1928-2023

Stanley Cole was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 19, 1928.  He was living in Chelsea, Alabama with his wife, Cecelia (Irwin Dilworth) Cole, when he passed away on September 5, 2023.

Mr. Cole attended Samuel Gompers Industrial High School in the Bronx, New York, graduated 1947.  He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 235, Brooklyn, NY, 1948.

In 1950 he was drafted into the Army, went to Cooks and Bakers School, served in Germany and received an Honorable Discharge in 1952.

In 1959 Mr. Cole made his way to Poughkeepsie, New York with his first wife Madeline (Schwalb) Cole and joined Temple Beth El. He opened Party Time Caterers delicatessen upon which he established Stanley Cole's on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. He retired in 1987 and spent his time and talents working at the Lunch Box of Dutchess County Outreach. Mr. Cole was a member of New York State Restaurant Association and president of the Mid-Hudson Chapter.

He is pre-deceased by his daughter Abbie Cole and survived by his children: M. Scott Cole, Middletown, DE; Beth Bassman, Chicago, IL; J. Peter Cole, Chicago, IL; Adam Cole, Annapolis, MD; grandchildren Samantha Rosenberg Rudolph and Rylan Cole; and great grandchildren Tabby and Annie Rudolph. He is lovingly remembered by his stepchildren Kimberly Munshower, Jason Dilworth, Silas Dilworth and Thomas Dilworth.

Services will be held at Temple Beth El, 118 Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY at 11:30 am on Monday, September 11, 2023.
