Obituary

With heavy hearts we said goodbye to our Father, Pop-Pop, Uncle and friend.
Sherwood C. (Skip) Pitcher, of Millbrook, NY passed away on March 16, 2021.
The son of Sherwood and Hazel Pitcher. He was born on January 12, 1939.
On November 23, 1958 he married the "love of his life" the late Eleanore Pitcher. Together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage before her passing in January 2020.
Sherwood is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Greg and Kathy Pitcher; daughter Susan and son-in-law Charles Zwart.
He was the beloved Pop-Pop to Jessica Pitcher (Michael Churton), Sara Pitcher (Victor Goldberger), Adam Miller (Kari Spielberg-Foley) , Ben Miller, Hannah Knapp (Dan and their daughter Kayleigh).
Sherwood was an amazing Uncle to Tim Baldwin, Becky Baldwin, David Baldwin, Katie Swedstedt, Laura Ahlf Lettieri and Patty Ahlf Sarvis.
He was predeceased by his wife Eleanore Pitcher, his sister Shirley Ahlf, his brother Robert Pitcher and his parents Sherwood and Hazel Pitcher.
Sherwood had worked at Western Publishing until it's closing. He then worked at IBM until his retirement.
Through the years Sherwood enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was known for his incredible clambakes. Sherwood will be missed by his golfing friends and his friends in Englewood, Florida.
In lieu of flowers we would ask people to hug a bit tighter, say I love you a bit louder and call a family/friend to say hello.
At this time because of Covid services will be private. A celebration of Sherwood's life will be given in the summer.
