Scott Christopher Nassar, 53, of Carmel, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in Poughkeepsie, New York after a long illness. He was born September 24, 1970 in Poughkeepsie, NY to George P. Nassar, Jr. and Lizbeth A. Nassar. He is predeceased by his father, George.
He left behind his mother, Lizbeth of Poughkeepsie, NY, sister Melissa Tomkins of Poughkeepsie, NY, brother-in-law Robert Tomkins, and nephews Nicholas and Alex.  He also left behind sister Courtney Hopkins of Honesdale, PA, brother-in-law Gene Hopkins and nephews Jack and Sam, along with a loving extended family and many close friends.

Scott enjoyed watching movies, collecting thousands of dvd's, telling stories, rooting for the New York Yankees, watching soap operas and scary movies, as well as bowling, instant lottery tickets, playing rummy, but most importantly spending time with his family.  He was a very proud uncle!
His charm, quick wit and sense of humor were among his best qualities and impacted so many people. Scott always asked about everyone's family and genuinely cared for others, even when he was not feeling his best. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Scott's family would like to thank the caring and supportive staff of Taconic DDSO who cared for him, as well as the many doctors and nurses who cared and comforted him at Putnam Hospital and most recently at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in the ICU and PCU.

Calling hours will be from 12:30-2:30 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
