Ruth Ann
Accardi
Sep 9, 1941 — Apr 12, 2025
Ruth Ann Accardi passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2025. Ruth was born September 9, 1941 in Croton-on-Hudson to parents Theodore and Lu Lu Sherblom.
Ruth met the love of her life, Gasper Accardi at the Reader's Digest and married on August 14, 1965. They were married for 19 wonderful years until his death in 1984.
She worked at Sabellico's for many years creating gorgeous flower arrangements. She then worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Lomangino and Dr. Soltis in Millbrook, NY for 35 years. She worked until she passed away and truly cared for all the patients. She would hold their hands if they were nervous and helped them to feel calm. She was so proud of her job and the care she could provide.
Ruth immensely loved her family, flower gardens, animals and anything with a little sparkle. To say Ruth was a loving and kind person was an understatement. She touched so many lives with her sweet gestures and generosity. She was a dear friend to so many and loved to have anyone over for lunch. Her daughters, grandchildren and her beautiful flowers gardens were her pride and joy. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarves for all she loved. She was glamorous inside and out and always looked so stylish with her beautiful hair and sparkling jewelry. She was truly a beautiful soul. The world lost a kind and loving mother, grandmother and friend but heaven gained a true angel.
Ruth is survived by her four daughters, Debbie Grewer (Paul), Cindy Hearn (Mike), Dawn Accardi (Kenny), Holly Accardi-Theohary, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was so proud of the big family she had being she was an only child.
Services are to be held Thursday, April 17th at Allen Funeral Home, Franklin Ave. Millbrook, NY from 4-7 pm. Funeral services to be held on Friday, April 18th at Allen funeral home at 10 am followed by a graveside service at Clove Cemetery at 11 am. The family is asking anyone attending the services to wear something with a little sparkle for Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to an animal shelter or Guiding Eyes for the Blind in her honor. Ruth would love this.
