Roberta Weidler, 96, of Pleasant Valley, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. Roberta was the daughter of Rowena Clearwater and Samuel Pappas. She was educated in the City of Poughkeepsie school system and was a licensed beautician.
On September 22,1946, Roberta married George D. Weidler, Jr. at St. Paul's Episcopal church in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Weidler predeceased her in 2005.
Roberta was also predeceased by sons Robert (Janette) in 2010, David in 1991 and grandson Jonathan in 1996. She is survived by son George D. Weidler (Grace), grandchildren Katherine Balis, Ambyr Weidler-Lane (Michael) and Robynn Weidler, great-grandchildren Ashley Weidler-Wolfe (Eric), John Balis (Jing), Collyn Lane, Morgan Lane, Logan Amoth, Eleanor Jean Amoth and great-great grandchildren Liberty Wolfe and Hope Wolfe.
Roberta will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to others; volunteering her time at St. Paul's Episcopal church in Pleasant Valley and in the Arlington Central School District, where her husband was employed. More importantly she will be remembered for the time she spent caring for her children, grandchildren and all the friends they brought home to her.
Roberta's family would like to thank the "village" that allowed her to remain independent in her home and brightened her days; especially the members of St. Paul's and her Kovacs Lane neighbors.
