Robert Spilbor, 68 of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Poughkeepsie on October 6, 1948, he was the son of Clarence and Ruth Reid Spilbor.

Robert was a painting contractor for J. Spilbor Painting for 44 years. On June 4, 1972 at Holy Trinity Church, he married Nancy Lowery. Mrs.Spilbor survives at home.

Bob loved traveling, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, football, golf, animals especially his beloved dog Benji, who was his companion and friend. He loved his friends and family but most of all his wife Nancy for 44 wonderful years.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Bob is survived by his mother Ruth Palechek and her husband William of Maryland; brothers, John Spilbor and his wife Nancy of LaGrangeville, James Spilbor and his wife Sue of Stormville and Ken Spilbor and his wife Anne of Delaware; sisters in law, Carol Martino of Poughkeepsie and Joan Biszick and her husband Jack (deceased) of Poughkeepsie; nieces and nephews, Jonna Spilbor of New Hamburg, Kimberly Kosakowski and her husband John of Wappingers Falls, Doug Lowery(deceased), and Thomas Martino and his wife Jodi of Wappingers Falls; grand nieces Samantha Eilenberger and her husband James of Windham, Brittany Lowery of Hyde Park and Casey Kosakowski of Wappingers Falls; great great grand nieces and nephews Jacob, Haley, Emily and Michael Eilenberger and Savanna.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22 from 4-8 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 23 at 11:30 am from St. Peter's Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 185 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie.
