Richard "Buzzy" Joseph Straley Sr., 84, of Salt Point, NY passed away on June 22nd in Poughkeepsie NY due to complications from a four year battle with Mantel Cell Lymphoma.
Richard was born in Hartford CT to Joseph and Veronica Straley on January 13th, 1934. He attended school at St. Joachim and graduated from Beacon High School. He married Sandy Wirsch on January 16, 1965 at St. Joseph's Church Poughkeepsie. He worked as a sheet metal worker with Local 38 out of Brewster NY. He was a union member for 60 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War while serving with the US Army. He enjoyed working in his yard, antique car shows and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard "Buzzy" is preceded in death by his sister Audrey and brother Edward.

Richard is survived by his wife Sandy; his son Richard Jr, his son Robert and his significant other Patricia Duffy. He is also survived by his daughter Heather Davenport and her husband Romine, and his daughter Amanda and her significant other Christian Corcoran; his grandchildren, Randy, Cassidy, Christian Jr.; his step grandchildren, Dennis Vogel, Karley and Devin Davenport and Sean and Kevin Duffy. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Elizabeth. Richard is also survived by his sister Barbara Hamm, brother Phillip, his wife Barbara, and his brother Thomas, Michelle.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 24th at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley, NY between the hours of 4pm - 8pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am Monday, June 25th at St. Joseph's Church, North Ave Millbrook NY.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Evergreen Ave., Poughkeepsie NY.

Memorial donations can be made in Richard's memory to St Joseph's Church Millbrook, NY or St Jude Children's Hospital.
