Permelia I. Abrahamsen, 98, of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.

Born in Poughkeepsie,NY on October 2, 1917, she was the daughter of John and Ida Hobert Tallon.

On October 17, 1937 at Christ Church in Poughkeepsie, she married Einar Abrahamsen. Mr. Abrahamsen predeceased her in 1987.

Permelia was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Valley, a life member of Order of the Eastern Star Hendrick Hudson Chapter, and a member Home Bureau.

Permelia is survived by her daughter, Permelia Truex and her husband Marshall; her 3 grandchildren, Marshall Truex III and his wife Kathleen of Pleasant Valley, Einar Truex and his wife Debbie of Murfreesboro,TN., and Bryan Truex of Pleasant Valley; her sister, Ida Sprouse of Pleasant Valley; 6 grandchildren:16 great grandchildren and 3 nephews. She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Mildred Tompkins and Adele Tallon.

Visitation will be Friday, April 8 from 11 am - 1 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm from the funeral home and interment will be in Crum Elbow Cemetery, Hyde Park.
