Paul Francis Kunkel, 69, died October 12, 2021 at MHRH. He was born on December 8, 1951 in Boston, MA, the son of Joseph Kunkel and Virginia Fitzpatrick Kunkel. Paul is predeceased by his mother and father, his nana (Mildred FitzPatrick), grandfather Frank, uncle Frank, and cousin Maureen DiMarzzio.

Paul graduated Wissahickon High School, PA, class of 1970. Following his graduation he worked at his parents family owned business up until his retirement. He married Melodie A. Plain on October 22, 1977 and they settled in Dutchess County, NY. They would be celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary this month. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children- Christina Kunkel, Amanda Ritch- son in law Corey Ritch, and Megan Kunkel- as well as his grandchildren: Grace, Anistyn, Emersyn, Levi, Wyatt, and Brayden- also his 8 siblings.

Paul was an avid fan of The Boston Red Sox and The New England Patriots. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He played ice hockey for several years for Best Cycle. Paul was a generous, loving and gentle man whom was loved by all of those around him.

Services will be private as per Paul's wishes.
