Patrick "Pat" Michael Wing Sr. a dedicated and loyal husband of nearly 52 years and loving father, passed away February 22nd, 2025, at the age of 79; leaving behind a legacy built on unwavering principles, honest action, and the undeniable thrill of an open throttle. He rode through life like he rode his motorcycles—fearless and free with a whole lot of stories to tell.
Pat spent his younger years working on the family farm and his young adult life throwing punches in the barrooms, proudly yielding 16-inch biceps. He later threw himself into his craft, a reliable and thorough carpenter in Local Union 203. Pat was often sought out when something had to be done right the first time. Hands rough and calloused from work and a life hard lived, always found time and tenderness for the orphaned, feral animal or the soul in need of perspective. His handshake let you know he was a man of his word, and his eyes let you know he wasn't lying. Known for his intricately planned pranks, he was always positioning for the next joke and story to tell.
In his later years, he joined his wife and family in Charleston, South Carolina. As his body grew old and tired, he'd say "getting old is by far the most terrifying thing I've done, although it beats the alternative I suppose".
Born a fighter in every sense, Patrick received his last right six times, proving that some men are just too tough to go that easy. But even the strongest riders must park their bikes eventually. He leaves behind his wife, Linda Wing, his children Patrick Wing of Averill Park, NY, Amy Wing of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Lauren Wing of Seattle, WA. He was pre-deceased by his son Christopher Wing who passed in 2004. He also leaves behind 10 (soon to-be 11) grandchildren, two (soon to-be three) great grandchildren, and a lifetime of stories that will echo on every long open stretch of highway and job site.
Though the road has come to an end, we know he's still riding somewhere, wind in his hair, coffee in hand, and not a single stop sign in sight. Ride in peace, Dad.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 11th from 4pm to 7pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook on Saturday, April 12th at 10am. Interment will immediately follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook, where stories will be shared and his legacy will live on.
