Patricia Anne Maier, age 60, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018 at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY. She was born October 6, 1957 in Titusville, PA to Richard and Marcella Herdzik . She subsequently resided in various locations in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut, most recently in Mahopac, NY.
A 1975 graduate of Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, NY and a 1977 graduate of Katharine Gibbs School , Patty was hired by IBM in 1978 as an administrative assistant. She ascended to the role of Senior Finance and Contracts Administrator in the company's Real Estate Division. Patty was an incredibly valued asset to the company for nearly 40 years.
Patty most enjoyed spending time with friends , family and her beloved dog "Mia". Some of Patty's passions included gourmet cooking, listening to music, reading extensively, international travel, and going to the beach. Her passion for cooking and entertaining was well known among friends and family. She also was an exceptional aunt to her nieces and nephews because she went beyond remembering birthdays and was there for them in times of need.
She was a great friend and a strong person who helped others to find their voice. Her strength of character was unmatched. Patty was an advocate many times for those who had none, and she supported many charities, especially those tied to animal groups.
Along with both her parents, Patty is survived by her fiancé, Charles Corey of Mahopac, NY; her sister Dr. Katherine Herdzik-Kamm , her brother-in-law Michael, and their son, Mark of Ave rill Park, NY; her sister Nancy Maggliochino and her sons Kyle, Tyler, and Shawn of Poughkeepsie, NY; and her sister Dianne Carolan , her brother-in-law John, and their son, Andrew, and daughter, Elizabeth of Wycoff , NJ.
At Patty's request, no funeral services will be held , but a private memorial service will be scheduled . Patty loved animals and would be honored to know that donations were made in h er memory to the Putnam Humane Society (PHS) in Carmel, NY. http://www.puthumane.org/ or corollawildhorses.com/tribute
