Obituary

Trish (Patricia) M. Adams passed peacefully Monday, October 23, 2023 surrounded by family. Born January 14th, 1939 to Ethel and Basil MacIntosh in Elmira , NY. She graduated 1956 from Elmira High School, then attended Elmira College for a Bachelor's Degree. She married Herbert L. Adams May 30th, 1959. Her Husband of 64 years survives at home. Trish is survived by two beloved sons, David (daughter-in-law Ren) of Millbrook, NY , and Keith of Hyde Park, NY.  She has two grandchildren; Tara, 30, Brooklyn, NY, and Ian, 28, who suffered a traumatic brain injury at 15 and is cared for at home.  She lost her younger brother, Donald MacIntosh 24 years ago. She is also survived by two nephews, Scott and Todd MacIntosh and their families in Ovid, NY. , sister-in-law   Winn Adams , Bellingham, WA., cousins Dr. Edward Brann (Rick Mixon), Georgia , Dennis Brann(Nancy), Florida , and several cousins in Canada. Trish held several professional positions including Marketing Director of United Way of DC, Acting Director of Community Relations at Dutchess Community College, Director of Development Bardavon Opera House, Managing and Development Consultant to Mid Hudson Civic Center, then formed her business Trish Adams Associates, since retired. Trish volunteered for many organizations including Poughkeepsie Chamber of Commerce, DC Boy Scouts council VP, Red Cross, Poughkeepsie Rotary, and many more.   Trish was very creative and talented artistically and had a love for animals and gardening. Trish's favorite passion were her horses, an avid equestrian, she instilled the sport with her granddaughter Tara, who rode competitively. In lieu of flowers, Trish wished for Memorial Donations to benefit her Grandson Ian Adams (check payable to Lyall Community Church, PO Box 426, Millbrook NY, 12545), or Hudson Valley Hospice, www.hvhospice.org. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at 2pm at Lyall Community Church, 30 Maple Ave., Millbrook, NY, 12545, reception to follow.  For those unable to attend please visit Lyall Community Church.
