Nellie Nemes, 97, a lifelong resident died Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  She was born on October 31, 1924, in Poughkeepsie, to the late Kazmierz and Aniela Wojciechowski.  She attended Wappingers High School.  She was the bookkeeper to her late husband's trucking and gravel business for years.
She is survived by her two sons; John C. Nemes of Poughkeepsie, James S. Nemes and his wife Jean of Stanfordville, two grandchildren; Matthew Nemes and his wife Ashlee of South Carolina, Heather Papa and her husband Nicholas of Florida; 5 great grandchildren; Owen of South Carolina, Angelina, Izabella, Taurino, and Danika of Florida.  She is also survived her sister Stella W. Coy of LaGrange.   She is survived by her sister in law Irene Csordas; her niece Bonnie Nemes; 3 nephews; Ernest Nemes, Gabor and John Csordas.
She is predeceased by her husband Salton, her sister Josephine Bowe, and her two brothers Steven and Charles E. Wojciechowski.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at the Calvary Cemetery on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
