Dr. Mickey Dean Isaacson, born on October 17, 1956, in Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on September 8, 2024, in Lafayette, Indiana. His passing marks the loss of a deeply accomplished individual whose life was defined by a passion for learning, music, and companionship.
Mickey's academic journey was both extensive and inspiring. He began his higher education at Dutchess Community College, earning an associate degree before continuing on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Juniata College. His pursuit of knowledge led him further to Villanova University for a Master of Science and ultimately to Purdue University, where he earned a Ph.D. This dedication to education reflected not only Mickey's intellectual curiosity but also his commitment to personal growth and excellence. He later shared his knowledge and passion by teaching psychology at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, Indiana.

Mickey shared his life with Christina, his beloved wife. Together they raised two children: Daniel and Lauren. Mickey's family was a central part of his life, and their presence brought joy and meaning to each day. He is also remembered by his mother, Gertrude, and brothers, Henry and Robert. Mickey was predeceased by his father, Dean.

Outside of academia and family life, Mickey found joy in simple pleasures that brought peace and fulfillment. He was an avid guitar player who found solace in music, both playing it and listening to it. Time spent with his dogs was another cherished part of Mickey's daily rhythm; these moments reflected the warmth and companionship that defined so much of who he was.

Mickey Dean Isaacson leaves behind a legacy rooted in scholarship, love for family, and an appreciation for the arts and animals. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 4 pm in Verbank Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
