Michael J. Murdock, "Big Mike" and affectionately known as "Funcle", passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was the born on July 27, 1960 to the late George Murdock and Martha Murdock. Martha survives at home.

Big Mike graduated from Stissing Mt. High School and was employed at Western Publishing and IBM. Big Mike lived for his family, friends, baseball, especially the NY Yankees, coaching his nephew's baseball teams and his adventures as an entrepreneur. He was always the life of the party and knew how to throw a great party.

Survivors include his mother; Martha, brothers; George and Mary Murdock, James Murdock, Andrew Murdock, James and Rosemarie Cook and Dean Robinson, sister; Gizella (Gigi) and Mark Flinn, nephews; George and Toni Murdock, Andrew Murdock, Daniel Murdock, Christopher Murdock and Amber Camio, Steven Flinn and Rose List, Mark and Karley Flinn, Tyler Flinn and Matthew Murdock, nieces; Jennifer and George Pavlonnis, Mary Beth and Dominick DeRose, Jessica Flinn and Robert Coutant, Cathleen Murdock and Justin Hedden and Megan Murdock, great nephews; Robert Coutant, Sean Murdock, Dominic DeRose, Carter Pavlonnis and Bradley Hedden, great nieces; Avalyn Coutant, Alessia Murdock, Gianna DeRose, Gillian DeRose, Julia DeRose and Isabel Pavlonnis along with extended family and friends.

A celebration of Big Mike's life will be held at a later date.
