Maryann DeWitt of Hyde Park passed away April 10, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Maryann was born in Millbrook, NY on September 21, 1943 to the late John (Jack) and Catherine (Campion) Lawler.
Maryann was a graduate of Millbrook High School and a proud graduate of Albany School of Nursing, where she obtained her LPN. Upon graduation, she worked at Saint Francis Hospital until she took on her favorite role, that of mother. Maryann was room mother, attended every sporting event and field trip that her children participated in. As her children grew older, Maryann went to work for Molloy Pharmacy as a pharmacy aide. She made many friends with her co-workers and customers alike.
Maryann is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Lee DeWitt, Sr. Her brother, Thomas Beecher, Titusville Florida. Other survivors include: her loving children: son, Lee J DeWitt, Jr (Nancy) of Hyde Park, daughter, Kristin DeWitt (Jim Secor) of Hyde Park; Grandchildren, Charlie Walters, Sam Walters, Kathryn (Katey) DeWitt and Brian Wright and many nieces and nephews. Maryann also survived by her many friends, including some of her Millbrook schoolmate's.
Always willing to lend an ear, advice or offer one of her delicious homecooked meals, Maryann will be missed by many.
Calling Hours will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St. Pleasant Valley, NY, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 4pm-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, April 13, 2023, 9:45 am at Our Lady of the Rosary, Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
