Mary Jane Connolly, a resident of Pleasant Valley, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 13 ^th surrounded by her children. Born on September 3, 1941, in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Oak.

Mary Jane enjoyed living an active lifestyle. She liked skiing, playing tennis and travelling. Throughout her life, she visited extraordinary places like the Grand Canyon, China, Vietnam and the Galapagos Islands. Mary loved to sing and had an infectious laugh. She participated in a couple local plays and choirs over the years. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and was a loyal parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Pleasant Valley, NY.

Her greatest love, however, was her children and grandchildren. She often planned family trips to the beach to spend time with those she loved. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially during holiday gatherings at her former residence in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Joanne Chillemi, her son Daniel and his wife Bridget, and her son Christopher and his wife Mary Elizabeth. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Maeve, Kaitlin, Ryan, Deirdre, Susannah, Patrick and Gavin. She is also survived by her sister Peggy and husband Ed Gillen, as well as her former husband and friend Thomas Connolly. She was predeceased by her brother Henry Oak and his wife Janet.

Calling hours will be at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, NY 12545 on Tuesday July 20, 2021, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.  A funeral mass will be held at St, Joseph's Immaculate Conception Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook, NY 12545 on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital www.stjude.org.
