Margaret Ann Scherer,87, of Fishkill passed away on August 3, 2015 at Wingate at Dutchess. Born on January 17, 1928 in Hayes Center, Nebraska to the late Anthony B. Nickerson and Dora Marie Wilson. Margaret was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peekskill where she taught Sunday School, served as Sunday School Superintendant, and was a member of the Woman's Tabitha Guild, serving as its president for several years. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill where she was a member of the Lutheran Lunch Bunch. Margaret was an avid bowler when she was younger, and earned many trophies. She also loved doing crafts and created many beautiful crewel projects. She is survived by her loving children Oscar Scherer Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen, Cinthia Hamel, Bryan Scherer and his wife Annie, and Connie Smith and her husband Donald. 9 Cherished grandchildren and 5 Great Grand Children. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Oscar Scherer in 2002, her grandson Steven Hamel, and her siblings Herschel, Andrew and Richard Nickerson, Mildred Stolz, Barbara Johnson, and Marietta Romine. Friends can call on Friday August 7, 2015 from 11-12:30pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30pm at the Funeral Home with Rev.
