Margaret M. Roth a resident of Poughkeepsie since 1971, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 15, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York to George and Lillian (Shaw) Breler.

On April 12, 1969, Margaret married George P. Roth. George predeceased her in 2000. She was also predeceased by her sisters-in-law Eleanor Kaskoun, sister-in-law Angelina Kaskoun and brother-in-law John Kaskoun.

Maragret had numerous jobs throughout her live including Kallman Ins. Co, Peat Marwick Mitchell, she met her husband while working there and the YMCA in Poughkeepsie where she retired. Margaret was very active with many different organizations volunteering at places like Holy Trinity Food Pantry, Restore, New Horizons Resources, Mental Health Association on Dutchess County and Mid-Hudson Valley Gem & Mineral Society.

Margaret was a world traveler having visited 5 of the 7 continents in her lifetime. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include her cousin Dorothy (Dorry) Scotti of North Carolina; nephew Anthony Kaskoun and wife Susan of Warrington, PA; grand-nephews Christopher Kaskoun and Daniel Kaskoun also of Warrington, PA

Entombment will take place Friday, August 28 at 10 am at the Mausoleum in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. A memorial mass will take place Saturday, August 29 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, NY.
