Margaret Frenzel, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, NY, passed away at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck, NY, on December 7, 2020. She was born on August 30, 1923, to Charles and Gertrude (Mulcahy) Warde at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. She and her younger sister, Gertrude Warde Harris (predeceased in 1977), lived in Bangall, NY and attended elementary school in Stanfordville, NY and high school in Pine Plains, NY.

On April 9, 1944, Margaret married Anthony R. Frenzel (predeceased in 2001), who was also a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, NY, and who opened and managed Grand Unions throughout the region but primarily in Millbrook, NY.  Margaret also worked for the Millbrook Grand Union for 30 years during their nearly 70 years in Millbrook - from the village on Franklin and Washington Avenues to Breeze Hill
to Lithgow to Haight Avenue. Her work didn't stop there as she was integral in the success of the
multi-generational family-owned and operated Mabbettsville Marketplace that opened in 1982 and
was sold in 1997.

She was our family's Doctor Dolittle who enjoyed plants, both inside and outside, pets, animals and birds; but most of all, she loved being with her family. Her four children and their families brought her much joy and she gave them her love. Her older daughter, Karen (predeceased in 2018), married
Gerald Tellerday and he resides in Millbrook and they have two children, David and Karen Lynn (Vickers). Her older son, Wayne, married Carol Ann Zick and they reside in Pine Plains and have nine children, Lara (Clark), Erik, Jeremy (predeceased in 2005), Marty, Karena, Joshua, Mark, Danica (Reed) and Frankie. Her third child, Toni Ann, married Kevin Lang and they resided in Lithgow, Millerton, Ancram and now in Rensselaerville and have two sons, Adam and Aaron. Her fourth child, John, married Joan Whalen and they reside in Millbrook and have a daughter, Annie

Margaret loved babies and her 4 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and their spouses, and
26 great-grandchildren (as of 2020) benefitted from her hugs, smiles, presents, baking and support at
too numerous to count sports events, concerts, recitals and graduations. She had a certain instinct when it came to her family; like the time she surprised Wayne at the Poughkeepsie Train Station when he thought he was surprising everyone on his return from the Navy in 1967

Margaret witnessed and was amazed by nearly a century of social, scientific, industrial, political and economic developments and to her dismay, weather conditions. Now, as we celebrate her life, we must deal with the 2020 pandemic and celebrate in a safe and thoughtful manner. Services, being arranged by Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook, NY, and her burial at the Nine Partners Meeting House and Cemetery, Millbrook, NY, will be private.
In recognition of the dedicated care Margaret received at the Baptist Home, especially during these difficult times for residents, families and staff when families were not able to visit, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Margaret 's name to the Baptist Home at Brookmeade, 46 Brookmeade Drive , Rhinebeck, NY 12572 . Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
