Margaret Black "Peggy", (nee Mara) 104, made the peaceful journey to join her husband, Robert, in eternal happiness on November 7, 2023. Peggy was born and raised in Brooklyn, where she lived until moving to Verbank, NY and ultimately settling in the Capital District.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert, her children, Kathy Young (Ray), Tom (Arlene) Black.
She will forever be remembered by her daughter, Margaret M. Devine and son Robert J. Black; grandchildren, Christine (Pat) Teetsel, Brian (Jen) Young, Theresa (Stephen Quick) Devine, Michael Young, Matthew (Tamara) Young, JT (Lisa) Devine; 10 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Peggy's strong faith was evident to all who knew her.  She loved baking, gardening, reading, spending time with family, playing cards, sharing her love with all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Peggy touched the lives of many people with smile and sense of caring and generosity.

Peggy's family would like to thank the staff of Eddy Village Green and Eddy Hawthorne Ridge  for all of the loving care, support and kindness they gave to her.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday, November 12 from 2pm - 5pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave, Millbrook, NY 12545. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 13 at 1pm from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 15 North Ave, Millbrook, NY 12545. Interment will follow in Verbank Cemetery, Verbank, NY.
