Louis Anthony Suozzo formerly of the Bronx entered into rest peacefully at Wingate at Dutchess with his daughter Rose by his side.He was born on January 21 1928 to his parents Bartholomew and Rose Suozzo.
On Novemeber 24 1951 he married Lucille Carr who survives. He is survived by his children who include: Rose and her husband in Fishkill NY, Tom and his wife Jean in Florida, Joan Rivas in Fishkill, and Linda and her husband Stanley in Fishkill. Lou is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Maria and her husband Dennis, Rachel and her husband Brian, Eddie Snitkoff, Michael Rivas, Stanley Quick Jr and John and Gregg LoQuidice .He was predeceased by his brother Mike and his brother-in-law Londi. He is survived by his sisters Nora and her husband Tony, Maryann and brother Rocco and his wife Joan in addition to many nieces and nephews and longtime friends. For many years he worked at General Foods as Head of Data Processing in White Plains NY. After an early retirement he took up his passion of running. He ran and completed 21 New York City Marathons. He was a film buff and also a lover of Broadway musicals many of which he attended. He was a fan of the original Star Trek series and onward. He even met all the bridge personnel of the original Star Trek at many conventions. One of his proudest moments was being an extra in the Paul Newman movie "Nobody's Fool". He was also a loyal New York Yankees fan and with his children saw many of the greats play in the Bronx during the '60s and '70s. An avid reader of non-fiction novels, one of his favorites was "Seabiscuit" by Laura Hillenbrand. Recently, he had read "Killing Lincoln", "Killing Patton", "Killing Reagan" and "The Wright Brothers".
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Wingate at Dutchess and to the doctors and nurses at Vassar Brothers Hospital for their kindness and care of our father.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 3 to 4 PM at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main St., Fishkill, NY 12524.
