Louis Curtis McIntosh of Millbrook, New York, was born on August 29, 1956, to his parents, Louis and Jean McIntosh. After a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Curtis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Curtis attended Millbrook Public Schools and later dedicated his life to helping others through his work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He served with Alamo Ambulance Service in Poughkeepsie, Empire State Ambulance Corp, and Cortland Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He also volunteered as Fire Police for the East Fishkill Fire District. Later in life, he enjoyed working with Hopewell Excavation in Wappingers Falls, New York.
Curtis had many passions. He loved reading novels, listening to country music with his friends and family, going to horse races, racing cars, and spending time at amusement parks. He had a deep love for animals, especially horses like Buster, and his dogs Bubba, Choppa, and his beloved Bella.
Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Isabel McIntosh; Grandmother Ellison; his parents, Louis and Jean McIntosh; his sister, Lori; his niece, Lorena; his aunt, Anna; the mother of his oldest child, Dottie; and his former wife, Anne McIntosh.
He is survived by his fiancée, Katherine "Kat" Gilmore; his former wife, Cynthia Depaola-Rogerson; his children, Louis, Jessie, James, Jason, Louis Jr., and Andrew; his granddaughters, Julianna and Emelia; his great-grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Curtis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is now at peace—and back playing fetch with his beloved dog, Bella.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11am from Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, NY.
