Lester Gilbert Millard, 79 of Poughkeepsie passed away on March 13, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Pleasant Valley on January 2, 1942, he was the son of the late William Millard Sr. and Vivian Parks. Lester served his country with the US Navy and was honorably discharged.
Lester was employed as a lawn/landscape manager at Walmart in Fishkill and also owned Rowe-Rutledge.

He is survived by his wife Bessie Baker Millard at home; his daughter, Barbara Dostie and her husband Bill; his granddaughters, Brandi Dostie/Cris Velez and Elyse Dostie-Slavich and husband Alex Slavich; grandsons, Brandon Austin and his wife Julia and Benjamin Austin/Angelina Ferrante; great grandchildren, Theodore Austin and Robert Rugar; his sister, Margaret Phillips and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William Millard Jr.

Lester's first love was his family and he enjoyed fishing, traveling and poker.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 22 from 3-5 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie.
