Lawris F. Barrett, of Hyde Park NY, formerly or Poughkeepsie, passed away at the age of 78, on September 5th, 2024. Born in Yonkers, NY on August 1, 1946 to the late Lawrence Brost and Janice Klatt Brost. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1964.

Lawris spent the majority of her career devoted to her work in the religious education department at St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley, NY.
She is survived by her three children, Edward (Debra) Barrett, of Hyde Park, NY; Patricia (Patrick) Taylor of Fort Mill, SC; and Brian (Kerri) Barrett of Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, brother in law David McMorris, cousins, step brothers, her nieces/ nephews, their children, and a great-great nephew. She is predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Janice Brost, her step-mother Katharine OBrien Brost, and her beloved sister Lindy McMorris. There will be no calling hours.There will be a brief viewing prior to the funeral at 9am  (8:30am for family) at Allen Funeral Home in Millbrook, NY, for those interested.

Please join us for a Mass of Christian burial that will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook, NY at 10am on Thursday, September 12th, 2024. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
