Lawrence Peter Remsen (Larry), passed away peacefully at his home in Stanfordville, on October 31, 2023. He is survived by Priscilla, his high school sweetheart and wife of 66 years, daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jim Valentine, 2 sons, Larry Jr. and Patrick Remsen, 5 grandchildren, Erin (Eymhees) and Larry III (Melanie) Remsen, Jordan (Sharon) and Hunter (Jen) Valentine and Collin (Ellie) Remsen. By April, 5 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Maureen and nephew, Timothy Remsen. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Margaret Tully Remsen and Vernon Remsen and brother Allan Remsen.

Born in Glen Cove, Long Island, he resided with his family in East Norwich, Long Island. Larry was a 4 letter athlete during his high school years and a life guard at state parks. His senior year he received a letter from the N.Y. Yankees to tryout as a pitcher.

He attended Pennsylvania Military College, where he was on the swim team, Pershing Rifles and pitcher for the baseball team.

Larry attended Farmingdale A & T and CW Post College while working for Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, Long Island. In 1965 he joined IBM, East Fishkill as a Mechanical Engineer in MLC. He retired in 1992 as a Senior Engineer Manager. While at IBM he received numerous awards and levels of patents.

Following retirement, he tested for the U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license and ran a charter business on Lake Ontario for many years.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved archery and placed 2nd on NETAA, 4th in Empire State Games with his archery skills.

Larry will be misses by all of us and those who had [pleasure to know him.
