Kent A. Roberg of Pleasant Valley died Friday, October 30, 2015 in his home. He was 64. Born on June 22, 1951 in Oak Park, Illinois, he moved to Glendale, California as a toddler. He began his career with IBM in Los Angeles before transferring to Poughkeepsie in 1983. He had been looking forward to retiring in December with 41 years of service. Kent is survived by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Debbie Roberg (née Sims); children Brian Roberg and his wife Carin, Kevin Roberg, and Kristen Crawford and her husband Jeremy; grandsons Patrick and Martin and their mother Karen; granddaughters Ella, Annie, and Lily; brother Carl and his wife Cindy, sister Maryann and her husband Jeff, and many nieces and nephews. Kent was an amateur radio operator under call sign N2MIP. In 1995, he became the first amateur radio operator to transmit from El Salvador. He enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren with magic tricks and spending time on Moose Pond in Maine. He will be remembered by many for his kindness and generosity. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10am at Immanuel Church, 253 Myers Corners Rd., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
