Kathleen Mary Griffin DeNunzio, 62, passed away on March 24, 2026 at home. Kathleen was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 16, 1963, the youngest child of Selah and Mary Fitzgibbons Griffin. Growing up she attended St. Joseph's School in Millbrook and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in Poughkeepsie. After high school she worked at De's Jewelry Store in Millbrook. She then worked at Abilities First for many years until her cancer diagnoses.
In 1998, Kathleen married Vinnie DeNunzio who predeceased her. She then met her life partner Steve Sackett. Steve and Kathleen enjoyed going to places she loved in the summer to Saratoga and the racetrack. She loved going to concerts, Neil Young being one of her favorites. Best of all was 3 weeks in Puerto Rico every January. She loved the beach and her cats. Her latest one "Cloudy" which was a feral cat Pat gave her, grew to sit on her lap and loved her too!
Kathleen is survived by her partner Steve Sackett; her brothers, Michael Griffin and Patrick Griffin (Judy); nephews, Robert Griffin(Cary) and Paul DeNunzio; her step daughter Dana Chadwell and children; sisters in law Lorraine and Christine; brother in law Phil DeNunzio; and cousins Rory, Margaret and Rhoda.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister Elizabeth Bogart(Griffin), sister in law Karen Griffin and cousin Tom Fitzgibbons.
Kathleen's family would like to thank her "forever" friend Reesa Murphy as well as many others and grateful for her care at Sharon Hospital as well as Hospice in her final hours.
