Obituary

Joseph J. Cusic of Hopewell Junction passed away on  April 3, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center   He was 82.

Born on March 4, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Stephen and Josephine Cusic, Joe graduated from the California State Teachers College in 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served from 1957-1963.  After being honorably discharged, he married Diane Sawyer on September 17, 1966 in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Joe was an industrial Arts teacher from 1966-1994 at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, NY.  While at Lakeland, he was the bowling coach, served as the bowling chairperson on the New York State Public High Schools section 1 board and was a high school football official.  Joe was also an avid golfer and "die-hard" Pittsburgh sports fan (Steelers/Pirates/penguins).  Joe enjoyed his retirement working at Beekman Country Club, playing golf, traveling and enjoying his grandchildren

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Diane, Loving Children Joscelin Grizzetti and her husband James of Morristown NJ, and Stephen Cusic and his wife Allison of White Plains.  Cherished grandchildren Camryn and James Joseph Grizzetti, Holden and Logan Cusic.  His Dear Sister Karen Dirito of Finleyville, PA.  Joe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters Virginia Fircak and Ellen Pechac.

Friends may call on Saturday April 9, 2016 from 2-6pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
