Jolene M. Maffei, 65, of Pleasant Valley, NY died following a long illness on January 30, 2024.  She was born in Poughkeepsie in 1958 to Emery J. and Ellen E. Kelder.  A graduate of Arington High School, Jolene attended Dutchess Community College and the Krissler Business Institute.  Always a people person, Jolene worked for many years in the restaurant industry, as well as corporate customer service positions. She thoroughly enjoyed helping others.

Along with her parents, Jolene was preceded in death by her siblings Emery, Sally, Billy, Susie, and Debbie, as well as her husband Jon M. Perkins.  Jolene is survived at home by her Husband Donald J. Maffei. Also surviving are her children, James Killian and wife Jennifer, Matthew Perkins and girlfriend Sarah, and Kimberly Perkins and her partner David Koval, along with her beloved grandchildren Katie, Christopher, Jacob, Shawn, Owen, DJ, and Georgie. Additional surviving family members include her sister Sharon Asher, and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Fiercely loyal to those she cared about, Jolene was always willing to help where she could.  Her door was always open, and a pot of coffee was always on.  Jolene enjoyed music and dancing, often sharing stories of the stars she met while working at the Chance Theatre in Poughkeepsie in the early 1980's. She loved expressing her creativity through crafting and taking ceramics and pottery classes.  Jolene is remembered by family, friends, and coworkers for her contagious sense of humor and quick wit.  Strong willed, tough, and courageous, Jolene never backed down from the challenges life put in front of her.  Her greatest wish was to pass these traits on to her children, through her example.

She gave more than she had and loved more than she received.

Calling hours will be held at Parmele Funeral Home 110 Fulton Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 Tuesday February 6, 2024, from 4-7 pm.  Burial will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie on February 7, 2024, at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope on a Misson
