John J. Mason of Wappingers Falls passed away on July 12, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  He was 77.

Born on February 15, 1939 in Auburn, New York to the late William and Eloise Barrett Mason.

John was a proud us Veteran serving in the United States Army.

He was a retired Correction Officer at Mattawan, Fishkill and Ogdensburg Correctional Facility for over 35 years.  He enjoyed gardening, plants and animals.  His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his loving children Stephen Powers, Gail Morgan and Paul Powers.  12 cherished grandchildren, 16, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 1999 , 1 brother and one sister.

Friends may call on Saturday July 16, 2016 from 9-11am at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill. A  Funeral Service will be held at 11am at the funeral home with interment to follow in Fishkill Rural  Cemetery.
