John Hartley, 81, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones and pets on his farmstead in Salt Point, New York. John was born on April 6, 1941, to Frank Hartley and Mary Hartnett Hartley in Bronx, New York.

John was a carpenter and floor layer and worked out of the New York City District Council Local Union 2287. For 10 years he owned and operated two floor covering businesses in Larchmont and Rye Brook, New York. John enjoyed many interests and hobbies including photography, home projects, cars, and working and maintaining his beloved farm after he retired in September 2008. John was a rodeo team roper and enjoyed competing for several years.  He was an avid animal lover and had deep affection for his dogs, his cat, and horses. He also was a motorcycle enthusiast, had a number of Harley Davidsons over the years and attended numerous bike rallies.

John is survived by his partner Nancy Darby, two sons John, Robert and his wife Denise, daughter Sara, sister Margaret, grandsons Tom, Ciaran, Joseph, and granddaughter Erinn.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home, Pleasant Valley, New York.
