Obituary

John Flanagan a.k.a. Johnny Boy a resident of Verbank, NY went home to the Lord on January 31, 2019 at 5:34pm with his loving mother by his side.
Johnny Boy was born on August 4, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Dolores Flanagan. He was born with Down Syndrome but that did not stop him. He enjoyed life going to school then to the AHRC Day Hab Program. Johnny Boy loved to dress up go to parties and dances. He was part of the Equestrian Teem in 1988 and won 2 Blue Ribbons and a Yellow. He as part of the "Special Strikers" Bowling League for over 20 years. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He especially loved children and dogs.

He is survived by his mother Dolores, sister Lynn, her husband Matt and their children Matthew, Paddy, Katherine and Kayla. He also leaves behind his grandnieces Anistyn, Emersyn and Rose and nephew Brayden.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, February 5 at 11 am from St. Stanislaus Church, 1590 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
