John (Jack) C. Dixon, 82 of LaGrangeville, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Saugerties, NY on October 5, 1935, he was the son of John and Pearl Covert Dixon.

He was a graduate of Saugerties High School and served his country with the U.S. Army from 1958-1960.
On April 12, 1958 at St. Mary of the Snow Church in Saugerties, John married Kathryn "Kay" Whitehead. Mrs. Dixon survives at home.
Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, John worked as an electrician until 1965 when he became an electrical inspector for the NY Board of Fire Underwriters. He retired in 2000.
In addition to his wife Kay, John is survived by his 3 children, Nancy Dixon, Linda Filiberti and Mike Dixon; his grandchildren, Jessie Floryan, Kelly Floryan, Jamie Floryan, Christopher Floryan, Michael Floryan and Nikki Filiberti; his great granddaughter, Aria Tissiera and his sister, Doris Muskovitch. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Katie Filiberti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 7 at 11 am from St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.

Memorial donations may be made in John's memory to any charity benefitting children.
