John D. Crodelle, suddenly passed away January 6th, 2025,  at home in Litchfield CT. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John was born and raised in Millbrook New York.  He was the son of Samuel and Mary (Burns) Crodelle, and brother of Marjorie Crodelle (deceased).  John had a distinguished career in law enforcement and community service, beginning with a 35 -year career in the New York State police, retiring as a Senior Investigator, then followed by a ten- year term on the bench as Town Judge of Millerton NY.
John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat (Sferratore), daughter Patti Crodelle of Boynton Beach, Florida, son John Crodelle (Amy) of Sharon, CT,  and grandchildren Shannon Burke Skattum (Lars) of New York, New York, and Samantha and Nicholas Crodelle of Sharon, CT. He was a beloved friend and neighbor to all who knew him across the communities of Port Ewen, New York, Millerton, New York, and Litchfield CT. John was an avid sports fan, and loved watching the NY Yankees, Army Football, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and his grandchildren playing sports.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11 AM, at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 15 North Avenue,  Millbrook, NY.  A local luncheon will be held for those in attendance. A viewing will be held the previous evening of Thursday January 9th from 4-7 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Avenue,  Millbrook, NY.
In remembrance of the deceased, the family suggests that any charitable donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org), the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org).
