Joan Leo, 88, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at home peacefully.

Joan was born on October 29, 1934 in Poughkeepsie. She was the youngest child of eight, born to Antonio Leo and Cristina Franco Leo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her sisters; Rose DeStefano, Madeline, Hines, Mary Wilkins, and Dolores Garrison and her brothers; John, Larry, and Tony Leo. She was also predeceased by her lifelong friend; Lorraine Morin. Joan is survived by her 18 nieces and nephews and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and retired from IBM East Fishkill. Joan was a lifelong Yankee fan, and an animal lover. She enjoyed playing golf, softball and bowling.

Family and friends may attend a mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 9:45 AM, 185 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot at Saint Peter's Cemetery on Salt Point Turnpike.
