William Jeffrey Gartland, age 67, of Poughkeepsie, passed away October 15, 2016, at Mid- Hudson Regional Medical Center. Jeffrey was born on July 2, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, to the late William and Marguerite (Marshall) Gartland.

He was educated in Poughkeepsie schools, and went on to earn his Baccalaureate degree in chemistry from Marist College. In 1973, he relocated to southern California. In 1982, he married Sallie Jo Corona, who predeceased him in 1989. That is when he returned to Poughkeepsie, and opened the Pool Room Billiard Connection. He would then go onto work at the K&D Deli in Hyde Park, until his retirement due to illness. He enjoyed, baseball, softball, bowling, and competing in local pool leagues for 20 years.

Jeffrey is survived by his two sisters; Jane Gartland, and Laurie Outlaw; five nephews, his close friend John Klein, and numerous other friends both local and at Westchester Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Parmele, Auchmoody, & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation.
