Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Albrecht of Pleasant Valley, New York who died unexpectedly on July 9th. Jean was born on March 1, 1944, to Floyd and Jennie Beatty, and lived a life centered on faith, family, kindness, and service to others.

On July 28, 1962, Jean married Steve Albrecht of Pleasant Valley. Together, they built a loving family and a home filled with warmth, tradition, and care. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved.

Jean worked the family farm early in her life  and later became a teacher's aide for the Millbrook School District BOCES program, where she was known for her patience, compassion, and dedication to helping children. Her gentle nature and willingness to lend a hand touched the lives of many students, families, and coworkers over the years.

Jean had many gifts and talents, and she shared them generously. She loved to bake and crochet, creating thoughtful handmade items and delicious treats for family and friends. Her home was always beautifully decorated for each holiday, a reflection of the joy she found in celebrating life's seasons and bringing happiness to those around her.

A devout member of the Presbyterian Church, Jean faithfully served her church community and sang in the choir. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she cared for others. She gave generously of her time by volunteering at the food pantry, the bargain basement, and the clothing drop box, and was a lifetime member of the ladies auxiliary for the Pleasant Valley Fire Department, always looking for ways to help those in need.

Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, Roger, and Anne.

She is survived by her daughter and five sons: Judy, Steve and his wife Karen, James and his wife Mary, Andrew and his wife Renee, Thomas and his wife Tia, and Timothy. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with more on the way, all of whom brought great pride and joy to her life.

Jean will be remembered for her loving heart, her generosity, her faith, and the many ways she made her home, family, church, and community brighter. Her memory will live on in the traditions she created, the kindness she showed, and the love she gave so freely.
