Obituary

Janet L. Morano, Clinton Corners, left this world peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was 86 years of age. Janet was born on July 21, 1935 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn Mund and Thomas Houston Sr.
On April 17, 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert Morano, who predeceased her in 2015.Together, they raised their loving family in their home in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Janet is survived by her four children, Robert Morano of Pleasant Valley, NY, Paul Morano of Clermont,NY, David Morano and wife Susan of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Julieann Morano-Hollingsworth and husband Scott of Clinton Corners, NY.
Janet loved to cook and was a very talented baker. Before retiring as a baker, she ran her own local cake business where she blessed many with her delicious and beautifully decorated cakes. She loved to read and rose to the challenge of really tough crossword puzzles. Besides her love of reading, Janet loved spending time with her family and friends. Everyone who knew her knew that she was an extremely kind, loving, gentle and peaceful person, and that she loved her family very much.

She was a proud, caring grandmother and loved each of her 14 grandchildren, Erik (Stephanie), SaraJane (Marcus), Jenna, Kristen (Devin), Melody (Charlie), Sami (Michael), Gabby, Samantha (Jon-Michael), Timothy, Robyn (Scott), Allyson (Michael), Daniel (Jamie), Skylar, and Corey. She also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren with one more on the way! Janet was also a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Houston Jr. and sister-in-law Debbie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Graveside funeral services will take place 11 am, Friday, November 19 at Saint Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie
