James "Jimmy" Michael Kane passed away on February 21, 2022. Jimmy was born in Brooklyn on September 3, 1945, to John and Loretta Kane. He attended Poughkeepsie Schools and then served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an auto mechanic. Jimmy loved fishing and enjoyed old movies and going to garage sales.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Kane, his sister and brother-in law Veronica and Joseph Silvers, and the love of his life, Judy Briggs.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon (Frank) Duncan, his daughters Dawn (Albert) May, Kellie (Kyle) Knapp, and Nicole Kane, his son Joseph Smith, as well as his nieces and nephews April (Christopher) Thomas, Tammy (Ryan Haller) Silvers, Brian (Georgette) Silvers, Lauren (Benito) Van Anda and Matthew (Cristina Sanfuentes) Duncan, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. At the wishes of the family, burial is private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker  Funeral Home, Poughkeepsie.
