Howard "D" Williamson, 92, of Pleasant Valley, the last of the Williamson triplets, passed away at home on Friday, December 15, 2017. Howard joins his siblings, Homer(2008) and Hope(2011). They were the triplets of Joseph and Printz Bliss Williamson, born on June 1, 1925 in Flushing, NY. While at Millbrook Memorial School, Howard attended the Pittsburgh Pirate-run American Legion Baseball School for pitchers at Riverview Field, now Stitzel Field in Poughkeepsie. He was inducted into the Millbrook Athletic Hall of Fame on November 18, 2016 as part of the Millbrook Memorial School 1943 Championship Baseball Team. Howard enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served as a Yeoman 2nd Class on the USS Tate, RS N 26 and the USS LSM 307 during WW-II. He was honorably discharged in May 1946. He was the recipient of the WW-II Victory Medal, the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal 1 Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon 1 Star. On April 12, 1953, Howard married Florence Hults in Millerton,NY. She predeceased him in 2013. Together they raised their 3 girls in Pleasant Valley. After the war, he became a meat smoker at the Armor Meat Packing Co. in Poughkeepsie before starting his career as a draftsman at IBM for 38 ½ years until his retirement in 1986. Howard is survived by his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Ron) Shipley, Pam Moustakas(Jeff Barnett) and Candy(Chuckie) Olson; grandchildren, Michael(Sandi) Shipley, Mandy(Jay) Harp, Dan(Chrissy) Olson, Gina Olson and Tom Moustakas; great grandchildren, Austin, Brycin and Colbie Shipley, Logan Harp, Nicholas Moustakas and Olson twins to be born in the spring; sister-in-law, Ruth Wright; nieces, Ruthanne and Bobbie-Jo Wright and nephew Don(Cas) Reilly. The family would like to thank Seth Anarfi for the special 24 hour care he gave to Howard for the last year and a half. Visitation will be Sunday, December 17 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 18 at 10 am from St. Paul's Church, 808 Traver Rd., Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Pleasant Valley.
