BEEKMAN – Harold S. Templeton Jr., 86, passed away on January 18, 2017, at Westchester Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1930, in Stamford, CT to the late Harold S. Sr. and Selma (Caldwell) Templeton.
Harold was a 1947 graduate of Stamford High School, and went on to Union College where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1951. From college he served two years in the Army from 1951 to 1953. After his military service, he began his career as an electrical engineer at IBM. In 1955 he met his late wife, Patricia Merrill, and on July 7, 1956 they married. They lived in Fishkill, before building their own home in Beekman. Harold enjoyed wood working, being in his workshop and working on farm equipment right up until his death. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Town of Beekman, serving as the chairman of the planning board, as well as the recreation board.
Harold is survived by his sons: James and his wife Vivian, Richard and his wife Mary, Keith and his wife Soma, and Jeffrey and his wife Ruth. He was predeceased by his son Donald but survived by his daughter - in – law Cari Templeton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Victoria and her husband Andrew Bleier, Morgan and Arthur Templeton, Stephanie and her husband Matt Boggs, John and James Templeton, Charles and William Templeton, Reid and Lindsay Templeton, Nick, Cecelia and Anna Templeton, Ryan and Cody Hiltz and one great- grandson, Jackson Bleier. He is also survived by his former daughter – in – law Susan Templeton, his sister, Shirley Whalen, brother, Rod Templeton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on February 3, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm.
