Gretchen V. Reed, a long-time resident of Poughkeepsie, passed away quietly at the Pines Nursing Home, on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11pm, she died at the age of 83. She was born on April 20, 1939 in Warsaw, NC. Gretchen was a Minster and sang all over the world. She also volunteered at the prison ministry, the soup kitchens and street ministries. She belonged to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Valley Christian Church, Faith Assembly Church and Christian Life Church.

Gretchen is survived by her children, Robert and his wife, Ka'Neen Reed, Tracey and her husband, Mark Phillips and Ronald Reed; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 12:00pm from the Hyde Park Baptist Church, 10 Romans Rd., Hyde Park, NY 12538. Burial will follow in Nine Partners Cemetery in Millbrook.
