George Hupe, better known to family as "Pap" entered into rest Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at his home in Fishkill. He was 90.

Son of the late William Hupe and Margaret Schubert Hupe, George was born on September 23, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. He was married to his wife who survives him, Gloria Hupe, for 67 years.

George worked as a jeweler in New York City for a short time before finding a successful career as an engineer with IBM. In his spare time George loved to enjoy the outdoors whether hunting or fishing, devoting time to the Germania Almrausch Schuhplattlers or focusing on spending time with his wife and family. George served in the United States Army with the 10th Mountain Division where he received numerous awards including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in World War II.

George is survived by his daughter Diane Zehner, son John Hupe and grandchildren Jaeger and Nikolaus Zuck, Heather Acken and Eric Hupe. He also leaves behind his loving caregiver, Karen Eutsey.

On Sunday June 5, 2016 a memorial service will be held at Germania of Poughkeepsie, 37 Old Degarmo Road, Arlington, NY 12603. Visitation begins at 2 P.M. with memorial service at 3 P.M. Reception will follow.
